April Kunkel has over twenty years experience handling horses.

She was raised on a family owned equine boarding/training facility

 in Michigan.  For many years she worked side by side with her father

at their farm, focusing on proper training, showing, trail riding,

feeding and caring for numerous horses. With April’s natural talent,

valuable knowledge and dedicated experience she decided

to help others by starting Kunkel Farms Training Center in Leslie, MI.

April Kunkel offers beginning basic riding lessons up to advanced

disciplines for the horse and rider in Western pleasure,

Western Horsemanship, Hunt Seat, and Trail.  Instruction time

focuses on stable etiquette, horse behavior, proper tack, grooming,

along with riding instruction. Instruction can be geared towards

competition or pleasure riding. 

April believes horses are like children; they need exercise,

guidance, and consistency in order to become safe and productive.

The Kunkel family takes great pride providing quality care to all

of their horses on farm.
